Today is “Presidents Day!” Well, actually it’s
Washington’s Birthday, but his birthday is on February 22nd, but we celebrate it on the Third Monday in February. Do I sound confused? I am! Because why does everything that our government does have to be so confusing? Is it just me or do other people feel the same way? I think that a lot of it has to do with our laws and how they are written; things get so
complicate! I mean you’ve read that lawyer talk stuff on those contacts that you signed…Did you really understand all that mumbo jumbo of words that they used? I know that I certainly did not understand it, but I signed it anyway. What else was I supposed to do have a lawyer read it over for me, before I signed it?
Here is what I wrote last year about President’s Day and I know that the spelling is wrong (see also apostrophe): “Though President’s Day is sometimes seen in print—even sometimes on government—Web sites this style is not endorsed by any major dictionary or usage authority.” But what can I say, “I’m confused! Do you wonder why?” It is like this quote on our money: “In God We Trust” but are we trusting in God? I liked this quote from the Gospel Tracts:
“It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.”
To say what you mean and mean what you say comes to mind, but
then it all gets so confusing to me in the reality of it all. What is the significance of this holiday? To honor All the Presidents of the United States of America, and although I don’t understand the punctuation or the grammar involved in all of this I guess it should read like this:
Happy Presidents’ Day!

Thanks for Listening,
Jeff

Happy Presidents Day!It\’s good to have days of commemoration, so that people will have opportunity to celebrate and have fun! Does it apply to the Presidents Day?
Hi Jennifer, You have asked a very good question, “Is Presidents Day fun?” I think it was much more fun for the people who had the day off…I know I had fun
It is a federal holiday so the banks were close, no mail delivery, the stock market was closed, some schools close and I think that makes it a day of celebration and a happy fun day for those people. It also brings to mind that we should have fun every day…I am have fun today too, and I hope that all of you out there in the Blogosphere are have fun today! Thanks for the question, Jennifer, and for stopping by. It is always a pleasure to have people share their thoughts with a comment…Have fun and Enjoy Life!
