On this very cold and cloudy Sunday, with the snow just barely coving the ground, Joel Osteen’s message is “The Gracious Hand Of God,” with His blessings upon us. These are my notes that I took as I watched and listened to Joel’s broadcast. Please feel free to Click Here for today’s Podcast to listen to it for yourself. We should all be counting our blessings and favor, in this life, for if it wasn’t for the gracious hand of God we wouldn’t be where we are at today. There is something about you that is indefinable
and can’t be explained, but God knows exactly what it is because He has graciously made each one of us as unique individuals to serve His purpose in this life.
When you realize you have this advantage, an edge. This defines each and every one of us and we all have our own purpose in life, to fulfill our God-given destiny. Because we honor God with our lives there’s something about each one of us that cannot be put on paper; it’s the gracious hand of God that makes us exceptional. God’s favor opens the right doors in our lives, His favor is what brings good breaks into our lives. The favor of God will allow you to accomplish what you couldn’t accomplish on your own. We should be living our lives faithfully knowing that God is with us to guide us to our destiny each day.
Joel used an analogy about how the Moses sole fish uses its protection from being eaten by sharks by secreting a protective poison that freezes the
predator’s
jaws, so that the shark cannot bite down to eat the little fish. Comparing the protection God has given this little fish, to the protection we have in the Scripture that says the favor of God is protecting us each day. The way that we release this poisonous toxin, so to speak, to keep the shark’s jaws frozen, is by thanking God each day for His favor. (Listening to this analogy would be much better than reading what I’ve written.)
Joel quoted these verses of Scripture:
Be blessed by the gracious hand of God!

Jeff
