It’s Sunday and today’s title is from Joel Osteen’s message “You Are God’s Masterpiece” and when Joel said, “So many people have a war going on in the inside.” I definitely know what he’s talking about, and that reminded me of the book that I am reading: Battlefield of the Mind. He went on to say, “Their not happy with who they are” and I thought to myself, “I am always trying to be somebody that I am not.” A good example of that is writing in my Blog everyday, but I don’t know if that’s a bad thing or not, because I am trying to learn something new by doing this.
Joel said, “You have to be happy with who God made you to be.” That made me think of this Blog entry from the same date last year: “Be Who You Are” and after reading some of that entry, I did an Internet search on Mr. Wizard the Lizard. I found that my whole entry was filled with errors, not on purpose mind you, but never the less, wrong. The turtle’s name was not Timothy but Tooter Turtle and then I found Toonopedia with a picture of the characters.
The reason that I am writing about this today is because it fits right into who God made me to be, and I have such a hard time accepting the fact that I make a lot of mistakes, I am human. So do I try and fix all these mistakes that I find or do I just accept the fact and move on? I am moving on!
These are a few of the notes that I took while watching Joel’s message today: You are God’s most prized possession; God made you the way you are on purpose; Quit wishing you were different; We have to accept who God made us to be; I am God’s masterpiece; I am one of kind; Quit criticizing God’s creation.
Joel quoted Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Joel quoted: Philemon 1:6
I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.
Joel quoted: Psalm 139:14
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Joel quoted Ephesians 1:11-12 I have added verse 11 to the quote:
In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.
Here are a few more notes: The enemy doesn’t want you to feel good about yourself; Little by little God is changing us; You don’t need other people’s approval to feel good about ourselves; The negative voices always sound the loudest; Honor God by accepting who you are; Be secure in who God made you to be.
In conclusion, I think that I understand what Joel’s saying in his message, I mean the name of my Windows Live Space site is My Unique Life. I have to accept the way that God has made me to be and understand that I am not perfect but a work in progress. Me writing about “God’s Masterpiece.”
Thank for Listening,
