Wicked’s conflict in his Spirit

Today’s Fiction Friday story is “Wicked’s conflict in his Spirit” and it is about going deer hunting. There is a primal ancestral sense for the hunt for which Wicked feels in his spirit, but there is also the conflict of taking the life of one of nature’s creatures from this world. This feeling of the wild or of a spiritual past life as a hunter which gives Wicked a feeling of belonging. November 15th is opening day deer season, and Wicked’s spirit is in conflict again, as it has happened so many times before, in his previous hunts. The spirit of the woods calls out to Wicked, each year, to renew their bond of friendship with the hunt.

This primal feeling of being out in the woods on the opening day of deer hunting season makes Wicked feel warm and good inside. The comradery of his fellow hunters, both living and deceased, are swirling about him in the wind, as there is this feeling of their good spirits, in his being. Wicked is reminiscing about previous hunts and those that have departed this world. Thinking that It won’t be long and he’ll be joining his friends in the big hunt in the spirit world, before too long.

Wicked is feeling like he has a need or some kind of explanation is in order for the full disclosure of his inspiration for today’s story. But the reality of today’s story is just to write a few words for some writing practice.
