The air is very humid on this summertime Sunday, and Joel Osteen’s message is titled “Your Second Wind Is On Its Way;” it is good to hear. These are my notes that I took as I watched and listened to Joel’s broadcast Click Here for today’s Podcast to listen to it for yourself. There are times in life when we all get tired. Each and every one of us has our own unique struggles, in dealing with our daily activities, which seems to make us feel exhausted, at times. Even though we are living our passions in life, weariness can set in, but we should not quit. On the way to our victory, in life, we always face the weariness test. This test never comes when we are fresh, it comes while we are tired, and the most susceptible to quitting. But we must shake off the weariness, having faith that God is still in control of our lives, seeing His promise in our future. God will renew our strength to succeed in life.
We must not look at life too far in to the future…We have to live life one day at a time, concentrating on today’s tasks, and using our strength we have for the day. Tomorrow we will be given the strength to accomplish the tasks of a new day. Living each day, one by one, receiving God’s help to fulfill our purpose, in this life. Worrying about the future just wears us down. Instead of worrying about the future get up every morning and say, “I can do this one more day!” We must stay in faith one more day. Enjoy life each day, knowing that God has the answer and that there is an end, and we will fulfill our destiny in this life.
Joel quoted these verses of Scripture:
This is the information from This Week’s Message page about today’s broadcast titled Your Second Wind Is On Its Way by Joel Osteen:
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
There are times in life that we all get tired: tired of trying to make a business grow, tired of dealing with a sickness, tired of raising a difficult child, tired of living lonely, waiting to meet the right person.
We can even be doing what we love, living in the house of our dreams, raising great children, or working at a good job, but if we’re not careful, we can lose our passion and allow weariness to set in.
The problem is if you allow yourself to become weary, you’ll be tempted to quit: to quit growing, quit standing for that wayward child, quit believing to get healthy and whole, or quit pursuing your goals and dreams.
That’s why you have to wait upon the Lord and hope in Him. Don’t give up when victory is right around the corner. God promises He will renew your strength. As you thank God for fighting your battles, you will be able to run and not get weary, you’ll walk and not faint.
You’re not going to drag through life defeated, depressed, and under the circumstances. You’re going to soar through life on wings like eagles, overcoming every obstacle, defeating every enemy and accomplishing every God-given dream.
Be blessed knowing that your second wind is on its way!
