Today is Groundhog Day

Phil says, “Six More Weeks of Winter” from the official Punxsutawney groundhog Page

This has been an extremely mild winter so far this year, and “Today is Groundhog Day,” but the weather is nothing like last year on this date. The picture above says it all because when this prognosticator Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog says that there is “Six More Weeks of Winter,” it sounds about right.

I liked this quote and explanation from the page:

“According to folklore, if a groundhog emerging from its burrow on this day fails to see its shadow, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If on the other hand, the groundhog sees its shadow, the groundhog will supposedly retreat into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks.”

Here is a quote from my post titled Happy Groundhog Day: “You can just feel the excitement in the air today as Punxsutawney Phil the ‘Prognosticator of all Prognosticators’ predicted ‘Six More Weeks of Winter!‘  I want to wish you all a ‘Happy Groundhog Day!’”

This is a quote from my post titled The Groundhog’s Shadow: What does Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow or not, have to do with the fact, that time is changing the season, whether or not ‘The Groundhog’s Shadow’ is seen today! I just love Groundhog Day because it means, one way or another, spring is not far away, and Phil’s perditions make it interesting.

Thanks for Listening,
