On this rainy Sunday morning Joel Osteen’s message is “Sowing a Seed in Your Time of Need” on April 15th. This would normally be Tax Day, but now the tax deadline is moved to April 17th, this year. Joel’s broadcast here in Detroit, Michigan, or locally on WDIV-TV Channel 4 was titled Unprecedented Favor and showed excerpts or clips from their A Night of Hope events from around the country. These are my notes that I took as I watched and listened to Joel’s broadcast today. Please feel free to Click Here for today’s Podcast to listen to it for yourself.
When we face difficulties each day it is easy to think only of ourselves, but we need to be thinking of others in their time of need, and to help them. When we sow a seed by helping others, God will help us to harvest what we need in our lives. By saying a prayer to help other people in their time of need, we are actually showing our faith in God by sowing a seed of goodness by helping others.
Joel quoted these verses of Scripture:
This is the information from This Week’s Message page about today’s broadcast titled Sowing a Seed in Your Time of Need by Joel Osteen:
It’s easy to be consumed by problems and difficulties in life and become ingrown and only think about our own situation. But Psalm 37:3 says, “Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.” (NIV)
When you’re in a time of need, sow a seed. If you need happiness, make someone happy. If you need help, help someone else. Have a problem? Help solve someone else’s problem. When you not only trust God but do good to others, that’s the seed God will use to bring a harvest in your own life. As you refresh others, God will refresh you.
God will bless you for helping others!
