You’ll never know what you’ll say “Until you start Typing” the words upon the page — this writing prompt was brought to mind by my post Obsessive Contemplation — from this date last year. When I overthink or obsess about what I’d like to say when I try to write each day. This excessive contemplation really doesn’t help me to get the words on the page and my writing practice accomplished.
The only way that I can get my thoughts out of my head, is to put them into words by typing them out on the page one word after another, and this is how I get my writing practice accomplished each day. Does that sound strange to you? This way of expressing myself by writing was not how I’d previously thought writing worked.
But I’m learning something new every day, and although these are my thoughts on writing today, tomorrow’s thoughts may be different. I have to do whatever it takes psychologically in order to allow myself to write something each day. Who knows what it will take tomorrow to write? And I do know you have to start typing!
Thanks for Listening,
